Fashion Friday: Unexpected End of January Mini Haul

When I returned to campus for spring semester, I definitely wasn't expecting to do another haul post until at least after spring break simply because I don't have time to go out and shop during the school year. I was wrong. I don't have any classes on Friday this semester, which gives me a three-day weekend every weekend!

A week into the semester, I didn't have much to do, so I went online shopping. Then last week, my sister and I went out off campus because I needed more hangers for all my jackets and she wanted to find some dress pants. But, of course, I ended up buying clothes as well.

Many of the items below are available for online purchase! Click the caption of the photo to shop for the item online.

Forever 21

I didn't get to spend any of my Forever 21 gift card from Christmas over winter break, so I ended up using it in its entirety online last week. That didn't leave any money for Forever 21 at the mall in town, but I got some great deals in store that I  couldn't pass up!

Floral Surplice Romper
I don't have any long-sleeved rompers, and this one can be worn almost year-round. It's thin enough to wear during spring and fall (and maybe a cooler summer day), but with the right layers, it can work for winter, too. I still wouldn't want to wear it on a normal winter day, though, since I can get cold easily. But if with tights and a black long sleeve shirt underneath, it would make a cute winter outfit.

Turtleneck Ribbed Raglan Sweater
Marsala may be last year's Pantone color of the year, but I'm still loving it for this year. Turtlenecks and cowl necks are in, so this is a unique piece in my wardrobe. This sweater is oversized, so it's great to pair with some leggings, but it can also go over a dress or skirt for a chic winter outfit.

Faux Geode Pendant Necklace Set
I'm enjoying the necklace layering trend, and faux geodes and stones look really cool, so this was the perfect choice.

This sweater was only $7, and it's in perfect condition! I love oversized sweaters, and the studs on the shoulders are a really great touch. It was on the clearance racks, which were BOGO free, so I got the cute collared, blush top below. I love the peplum and the collar. It's also nice enough to wear professionally but can be dressed down to wear on a ordinary day, too!

Faux Leather Pointed Flats
Flats are my go-to shoes for professional ventures, which is why I snagged these: I'm going to a sports business conference later this month. I like pointed flats better than rounded ones, and black is a good neutral color.

I actually do have a pair of black pointed flats already that are better quality than these (these only cost $15), but the point is too long and makes the shoe fold when I walk. I've never worn Forever 21 shoes before, but these don't feel too bad in terms of quality. I think I could make them last a good amount of time.

TJ Maxx

I often post my OOTD on Instagram. In addition to #OOTD, I use the appropriate hashtag based on where I got my clothes in the outfit. I have a lot of clothes from TJ Maxx, so I use #maxxlife a lot. I mainly use the hashtag so more people can find my photo, but using #maxxlife and #contest makes you eligible to win a $50 TJ Maxx gift card.

I actually won a few weeks ago and got a free gift card just by posting a photo to Instagram! I definitely recommend doing the same if you Instagram your outfit that includes clothing from TJ Maxx. Therefore, I decided to take a trip to their location in town.

If you read my first Motivation Monday post, then you know that cute workout clothes motivate me to get off the couch and actually exercise. That's one reason I got this Under Armour sports bra. I also love the color (pink is my favorite!), the design, and I love the message on the band. I'm all for girl power and fighting through adversity.

Overalls came back when I was in high school, and I haven't seen too much of them lately, but I'm down for trying new things when it comes to fashion. These Bullhead ones are originally from PacSun, but TJ Maxx had them for only $10, which is much, much less than retail. Bullhead is my favorite when it comes to denim, so I liked how these fit.

I think these could be styled in so many different ways. Be on the lookout for a post about how to style these! It probably won't happen anytime soon, but it's definitely a post I want to do.

Styles for Less

Boho Kisses Printed Flare Pants
Based on all my other photos, this one obviously isn't mine. Taking photos of bottoms is hard for me when I'm at school because I don't have any hangers for pants or skirts, so I just used the one from the website.

These pants are just so fun and vibrant! I think they'd be perfect for a summer music festival. I unfortunately have no near-future plans to attend a music festival to sport these at, but I'm really liking the boho flare/palazzo pant trend lately. I can't wait for spring so I can wear these!

Devyn Beaded Tassel Necklace
I've seen a lot of necklaces similar to this one online and in boutiques, but they were always pretty expensive. So I was pleased to see that this one was only $10! It's just black, so it should work well with a lot of my clothes.

What's your favorite item from this mini haul?
