And while I always knew her Laguna Beach co-star and supposed rival Lauren Conrad would end up in the fashion industry, I wasn't surprised Cavallari made her way in as well. She now has a shoe line with Chinese Laundry and a jewelry line called Emerald Duv.
Now that her book Balancing in Heels is out and I, for some reason, have time to blog in the middle of the semester, I'm featuring her as my next style icon! Here are some of my favorite looks from her.
This outfit is so simple, but it's so chic and sleek. I love the light colors paired with the black sunglasses, jeans, and boots. It adds great contrast. She makes wearing simple outfits so stylish.
While this one's a very monochromatic outfit, the different shades add some depth and variety. Why don't my winter outfits look this cute?
Athleisure meets edge in this other monochromatic outfit. The leather jacket is such a nice touch. Without it, it'd just be a very casual outfit of a t-shirt, leggings and sneakers. But the jacket takes it to a whole other level and adds some edge and style to the otherwise boring ensemble.
I feel like Cavallari's inner Cali girl comes out in this photo, which makes sense since she spent a decent amount of time growing up in Laguna Beach. The white top with the lace detail is elegant and clean, and the lace up sandals (that are all the rage and trending right now!) are super cute and add a little boho flair to the outfit.
She really knows how to make casual chic! The necklace, booties, and fringe bag all take this outfit up a notch. Here she also shows that you can wear brown with black, which I feel people forget sometimes.
I just love this look! It's definitely something I'd wear (preferably in pink, though). Her hair is super cute up in a messy (yet chic) bun, and the fit and flare dress looks great with the statement necklace. It's safe to say she can do plain old chic, too.
While I'm not sure her gown is something I would wear, I love it on her. The sweetheart neckline paired with the gold belt, peplum waist and mermaid style bottom are an interesting combination but actually work out! The black is a great contrast for the gold belt, and there's a nice silhouette and texture with the different styles going on with this dress.
I'm a big fan of mesh when it comes to dresses (probably because of all the gymnastics I watch with gymnasts wearing partially mesh leos), and this is an example of why. Mesh just looks cool, and the mesh upper bodice and stripe near the hem just add some detail and contrast to this little black dress.
After looking at all these outfits, I might have to call her the queen of casual chic because she does it so well! The collared sleeveless top and pointed heels are obviously more dressy and chic than the distressed jeans. But when they're all in an outfit together, there's a nice balance of casual and dressy.
As Jay Cutler's husband, it makes sense for Cavallari to have cute Chicago Bears tops. The loose fit of the graphic tee goes really well with the skinny jeans, and the booties, once again, take her outfit up a notch. She definitely know how to dress cute for game day!
