Style Icons: Naomi Scott

If you know me, then you know I love Disney, especially Disney Princesses, and that Princess Jasmine is one of my favorites. Last year, the live action remake of Aladdin was released, and British actress Naomi Scott took on the role of Princess Jasmine. Aladdin's one of my favorite Disney movies, so of course I was hesitant to see how the live action version would turn out, but I loved it. Naomi Scott is an amazing Jasmine, and Jasmine as a character was really elevated in the 2019 film.

So in honor of the Aladdin remake's first birthday, in addition to Naomi Scott's 27th birthday earlier this week, I'm featuring her in my latest edition of style icons!

I love two piece dresses, and this one is unlike any I'd seen before. The half sleeve off-the-shoulder top is unique and sharp. The burgundy color is stunning, and the jeweled top contrasts with the solid sheen of the skirt really well.

Black never goes out of style and is such a versatile color. I love the different textures with this outfit, from the ruffled top to the beaded pants. The high-waisted pants create a flattering line and shape and pair with the cropped tank perfectly.

This light purple is a beautiful color and really pops with her skin tone. The sheer mesh-like material is fun and perfect for Miami and warm weather when you don't want to bare it all.

Where do I begin? First of all @menamassoud I love you forever, I cannot WAIT for people to see how bloody talented you are and how you were able to take such an iconic character and translate everything we loved about Aladdin and more. You are gonna knock people’s socks off. I’m so blessed to be on this journey with you. @willsmith, every time I think I couldn’t love you more you surprise me. The love & support that you’ve poured onto us is such a testament to the human you are. I feel so safe around you, you are the brightest light. Also I think this is my favourite performance of yours to date, (maybe other than the scene with Uncle Phil when your Dad leaves). @guyritchie, one of my favourite people. You are so authentic, you treat everyone with respect, you don’t care who they are. You say it like it is, but have the biggest heart to go with it, and you have the best wife in the world @jacquiritchie. I love you both ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

For the best view of this dress, go to the third picture in the Instagram post. I love everything about this gown. The color is so pretty. The skirt has pockets! The top has a unique high-neck cape-like design, and the skirt has a beautiful train going on. This gown is dramatic and definitely fit for a princess.

Her caption says it all. "Shining shimmering splendid." I love a good reference, and those are the perfect words to describe this outfit. The top is so sparkly and contrasts with the tulle skirt. The three layers of the skirt add flair and shape, and I just want to wear this dress and twirl around it in all day.

You know how some people don't like to wear certain colors because they don't think they look good on them or that color washes them out or something? I'm convinced Naomi Scott doesn't have that problem. This blue ensemble looks fabulous on her and is so chic. It's so bright and vivid and polished. Monochrome looks aren't just for black!

What a fierce look! The animal print adds flair to the polished suit set while the pointed toe shoes kick it up a notch.

Okay. Naomi Scott clearly can do no wrong with blazers and suit sets. The jewels on this jacket add some shine, and the sheer button down top add sophistication and edge.

The "wear a blazer like it's a cape" thing can be hard to do and pull off, but she has no problem with it. I adore the floral set with the colored florals popping on parts of the jacket while the rest of it and the pants have the monochromatic black floral sheen on it. It's a neat way to add depth to an all black outfit.

And here's another great monochromatic black ensemble, but this one plays around with more styles and textures. The bustier-like top with buttons is more structured while the skirt is more playful and flowy. It looks like a skirt that would be fun to twirl around in all day. The peep-toe ankle boot heels add some flair and edge.
