I don't know about you, but I personally like and enjoy seeing what gifts people get on their birthdays, at parties/showers, and on Christmas. So I'm going to share what I got for this past Christmas in case you're one of those people who also enjoys that sort of thing. Also, it's a fun little way for me to reflect on what I got, share what I like about the gifts, and is another way to say thank you. Some people may see it as bragging, but I see it as "Hey, I like what you got me so much I want to show/tell everyone!" But maybe that's just me.
If you'd like to buy any of these for yourself or someone else, I linked the product title/subheading for what I could find. (I did not purposely search for what people bought me online/the prices ― a lot of these gifts came with little promo cards from the company they're from so I could see what other products they sell and/or I was already familiar with the brand. Plus, I have no idea if people used promo codes or coupons or what. I just like to link things, because I often go searching for things I see online from people I follow on social media and whatnot.)
So thank you to my family, friends, and co-workers who generously gave me a present for Christmas. Happy holidays, everyone, and I hope 2021 is better than 2020 for us all!
My twin sister bought me all book-themed gifts this year, because I love books, and I also work at a library. This bangle keychain is super cute. I've been seeing bangle keychains and little bangle pouches/bags a lot online these days, and this one is perfect for me. In case you're new here or somehow don't know, my favorite color is pink. Also, I love glitter. So I love the light pink color of the bangle and the tassel, and the plastic heart keychain with glitter that says "book babe" is my favorite part. This is perfect for my work keys and so much more me than the standard library lanyard I used before.
This is also from my sister, and the first thing I need to say is that the inside of this sweatshirt is
SO SOFT. It's the softest sweatshirt I've ever felt before, so I am most definitely excited to wear it. Anyway, I love the quote, because I am definitely fond of books. As a design person, I of course have to comment on the font, which I think seems very fitting for the quote and the person who said it. The sweatshirt isn't pink, but that's okay, because I still like the color.
Yes, I really do just want to have books. If I could have a room that was a home library, I would. This shirt is also soft, so I also look forward to wearing this.
This pin is definitely going on my work lanyard. It's where it belongs, literally ― I work at a library.
My friend Allison got me this super cute To All the Boys inspired pin, and I love it! If you don't know, I absolutely love and adore To All the Boys I've Loved Before. It's my favorite movie and one of my favorite books. This pin will also be going on my work lanyard, which I think Lara Jean would appreciate.
If all of my jewelry could be rose gold, I would have it that way. My sister knows I've been wanting little hoop earrings, and these are perfect for me, because I love rose gold, and hearts are my favorite shape. This will be a cute, dainty touch to any outfit.
More rose gold! Lately for birthdays and Christmas, my mom's bought me and my sister jewelry, and this year was no exception. I especially like what she bought me this year since it's rose gold, and she has yet to buy me anything rose gold.
I love Disney, and I love doughnuts, so of course I love these pajamas! These match my Minnie doughnut pillow perfectly, and I'll for sure have to take a photo in these with my matching pillow.
Disney Princess Graphic Tee
My dear friend Erin sent me this cute Disney Princess graphic tee that I absolutely love! I remember seeing it at Target and on Instagram and thinking it was such a cool shirt. It just felt different than every other Disney Princess graphic tee I'd seen before that made me like it more. The design itself with all of the princesses arranged in a box feels modern but the way the graphic is printed, its colors, and the shirt color itself feel vintage, creating a cool juxtaposition.
Reverse Sequin Pouch
Allison also sent me this cute little reverse sequin pouch. I feel like you can never have too many pouches to organize your stuff in, so I'll be sure to put this to good use! And until I figure out what to put inside, I will at least enjoy flipping the sequins over and over and over again.
Rose Pink Lola Glitter Large Slim Card Holder - Kate Spade
My boss got me such a perfect gift, and I love it so much! Like I mentioned before, in case you don't already know, I love pink and glitter. Kate Spade happens to be one of my favorite designers, so this fits me so well, and I felt so touched when I opened it. I don't like big bulky wallets either, so it's like she read my mind!
Homemade Cloth Face Masks
I don't think anyone ever thought reusable face masks would end up being a good Christmas present, but here we are. I got this gray and pink one with moons and stars on it from my co-worker, and I got the swirly/floral pink one from Allison (I'm guessing her mom made it, because her mom is awesome and has been making masks throughout the pandemic). I feel like at this point in time, you definitely can't have too many masks, so these will definitely come in handy (and match my clothes!)
Scrunchies
I love scrunchies and own way too many, but that's okay because I have really long, thick hair, so I probably need a lot. Allison gifted me these two cute ones. I actually don't already own any that are like these, so these will be a good addition to my collection. I love the metallic in the one on the left, and I'm loving the satin on the right.
The "biggest" present I got is from my brother. He got me and my sister a Nintendo Switch, which I'm especially grateful for, because now we can play Mario Kart again, which my sister has been wanting to do for essentially all of 2020. In addition, his girlfriend got us a few games, because no gaming console is complete without them. We got Animal Crossing (of course), Mario Kart 8, and Mario Tennis. We've already been enjoying playing it, and it's been a great way to spend our extra free time indoors.
Allison also got me a book as it's one of the interests we bond over. I know Leigh Bardugo is one of her favorite authors, so I'm honored she decided to share one of her favorites with me. Also, I know Shadow and Bone has been adapted by Netflix, so now I have a copy to read before it comes out. I am definitely someone who tries to read the book before the movie/TV show comes out, so thank you, Allison!
What are some of your favorite presents you've gotten and given this past holiday season?
