My Favorite Pop Culture Galentines and Valentines

Happy belated Galentine's Day, and happy Valentine's Day! In honor of the lovely holiday, I'm sharing some of my favorite female friendships and romantic couples from some of my favorite books, movies, and TV shows. A lot of people often think of Valentine's Day as a day for couples, but I want this post to serve as a reminder that this day is simply about love. It doesn't matter if you're single, in a relationship, married, or engaged. Celebrate the day with people you love, whether it be friends, family, or significant others.

Lara Jean and Chris (To All the Boys I've Loved Before)

As the self-proclaimed Filipino Lara Jean Covey, there was no way I could leave my favorite fictional character to ever exist off this blog post. Whether you've read the book or have only seen the movie (if you haven't at least seen the movie, please do ― this is probably like the fifth time I've mentioned TATBILB on my blog), you'll know Lara Jean doesn't have very many friends, but she does have Chris, who's her best friend. (And if you haven't read or watched TATBILB, Chris is short for Christine.) The two of them have been friends since they were kids, but now that they're older and have developed different interests and whatnot, they don't spend as much time together. But that doesn't stop them from being best friends and being there for each other.

As someone who also doesn't have a lot of friends and doesn't spend a lot of time with the ones I do have, I really appreciate and admire their friendship. Lara Jean and Chris don't hang out as much as they used to because of school, different interests, and just different lives (we all know life's much easier when you're 7). But when Lara Jean needs Chris, Chris is there. Chris even goes on the ski trip for Lara Jean ― and Chris doesn't do school functions (or school)! 

For me, pretty much all of my friends live in different states, thousands of miles away. So I don't get to see them very often. But if and when I need them (and when they need me), we're there for each other.

My October Favorites

Now that I have a bunch of leftover Halloween candy to eat because no one came to my house for trick-or-treating, it's time to share my October favorites.

Jeremy Jordan

My sister and I basically had a Jeremy Jordan marathon in October and watched almost everything he's been in, including Newsies (a few times, actually), Supergirl, The Last Five Years, and Smash. The first time I watched Jeremy Jordan in anything was in Newsies, so I was definitely used to seeing him as a "tough guy," but after watching him in 2+ seasons of Supergirl, it's funny how he does well as the complete opposite role as Winn Schott is kind of the dorky, smart best friend type.

Anyway, although he was only in one season of Smash, I loved hearing him sing and really enjoyed a few of the songs his character sang, especially "The Love I Meant to Say," "High and Dry," and "Broadway Here I Come." 

Pretty Little Liars Fashion Favorites: Season 7

Two weeks have been since Pretty Little Liars has officially ended, and now it's time for the end of this PLL fashion favorites series. While I don't think the final season was the best in terms of fashion, it certainly delivered for Aria and Hanna, especially. I loved so many pieces and outfits they wore this past season. However, I didn't really care much for anyone else's wardrobe. And just as the series finale was jam-packed with information, it was also full of great outfits!

Bomber jackets were really trendy during season seven, and I especially adore this one. The green and beige go well together and create a simple contrast, but my favorite part of the jacket has to be the desert cactus patch on Aria's left side. So cute!

Pretty Little Liars Fashion Favorites: Season 6

The fashion in season six just got better and better.  A good portion of season six was after the first time jump where most of the Liars were done with college and were beginning their careers, and the clothes followed suit. All of the styles matured but remained true to the characters, and I very much enjoyed seeing that take place.

The chain detailing on the sweater is so cool! What an awesome touch of edgy style to go with an otherwise soft (in style, not actual material) top. I like that Aria paired it with a distressed denim skirt with a zipper decoration in the front because both are soft hues with just a  bit of edginess.

Pretty Little Liars Fashion Favorites: Season 5

Season five is where I really started to like the outfits and clothes. I feel like every character stepped up her fashion game from this point on. Also, Alison is finally in the show not always wearing that ruffled yellow top, and I adored her style from this season. It was so chic, but I feel it only lasted for season five. Then Alison started to dress more mature, sometimes looking older and like she was already a mom. With Alison being back, this is also the season Hanna's wardrobe starts to change, becoming more edgy to not be so much like Alison.

These pieces in Aria's triple-print outfit are actually all from the Aeropostale x PLL collab. I love that they actually got the characters to wear these on the show. Not many people could pull off mixing two prints, let alone three, but Aria always knows how to be bold and get it right.

Pretty Little Liars Fashion Favorites: Seasons 3 & 4

Seven years of the suspense and drama that is Pretty Little Liars finally comes to an end tonight. Continuing to celebrate and remember one of my favorite TV shows, here is the second installment of my PLL fashion favorites blog series, featuring outfits from seasons three and four

.Once again, Aria and Hanna came out on top, but I am rather surprised that I found three Emily outfits to put in this post. Coincidentally, they're all dresses.

I love matching sets, and this one is no exception. The studs are a great touch to the black jacket and skirt (they'te on the waistband if you couldn't tell). I also like how Aria paired it with a patterned black and gold shirt for some contrast. Her pink backpack is also adorable.

Fashion Friday: Pretty Little Liars Fashion Favorites: Seasons 1 & 2

In honor of Pretty Little Liars ending this upcoming Tuesday, I've decided to do a blog series about my favorite outfits and clothes from the seven-season show. PLL is known for having one of the best wardrobes on television, even leading to a fashion line at Aeropostale. Because I've been a fan of the show since it began and love fashion, I thought this fashion favorites series would be a great way to remember and celebrate the show.

I've split up the pieces and outfits by character because I thought that would be easiest. I'm not entirely surprised by which characters outfits I like most, but I am surprised I seem to like Aria Montgomery's wardrobe the most. Aria is the boldest character on the show, fashion-wise, so I was a bit shocked to see how much of her quirky and unique clothes I liked.

I didn't care much for season one's clothes, so this post combines seasons one and two.

This ensemble is the only outfit I chose from season one. Pictured above is Aria's homecoming outfit, and it's no surprise she wore an edgy black dress. I love that it is equally grunge and glam. The chains on her shoulders, the mesh upper bodice, and shiny bodice balance well.
